An Artillery Shell by Devin Pavlischak/ December 14th, 2015 ©

Buried in the ground, four inches to earth.

About to explode into the massive crater.

You reach to feel its warmth, its cold and fragmented.

Going off without further thought, a spark ignited from tension.

Propelled, indefinitely falling.

I see the light once more before… ripped to ribbons and shredded.

Revived for only a moment, slipping in and out.

The bomb tore away, following the spark of life.
