The Deepest War by Devin Pavlischak/ December 6th, 2015 ©

A war is not fought within, though under the skin.

What you can’t see is blind to the people who see you.

They come and they take, leaving your beating heart.

It’s under your bones, rattling in the wind.

Touching your nerves, fighting in separation.

To the last breath, under it all.

Children do not fear their destiny, they walk, leaning into the warmth of the sun.
