Seven Chained Birds by Devin Pavlischak/ November 26th, 2015 ©

The color of the trees had hollowed away.

In the middle of empty lands, you would find a full cage.

Seven indigenous birds, full of blue and gold feathers.

They were blind to most, so chance chained them together.

One day the thin walls would rust, or someone would find the key.

Separation and ignorant men would eventually strike ambition.

Stones would break the chains, into the sky would jump the seven birds.
